v1.17 - March 2026
General Usability and Reliability Improvements
We've polished a number of areas in both the desktop and web apps to improve usability and reliability. Not all of these are documented, but should result in overall easier use and fewer snags.
Web App Usability Improvements
We've made some design changes to the navigation of the Pebble Geo web app. We've made the main menu system clearer and we've combined various individual functions into new web pages with expandable options and settings.
We've also streamlined the option to start a new borehole logging project from within the web app so that it's easier to get started with a new project.
Improved AGS Export
AGS exports now take date-time fields into account more completely, and also create dynamic UNIT tables, leading to easier creation of valid files for your clients via the auto-fix option.
In desktop we've also added the option to specify the AGS version number for the export. The standard version for Pebble Geo remains 4.0.4, but you can now select 4.1.0 and 4.1.1 at the export stage.
Auto-Compute Final Depth Field (AGS LOCA_FDEP Field)
To improve the probability of exported AGS files passing your clients' validation step we've added an auto-compute for the 'LOCA_FDEP' field. This will populate the field based off the available depth-related data for the hole.
Changes to User and Print Settings
In both desktop and web apps we've refined the way the various user and print settings are presented to make them more clear and logical.
CBR Increment Setting
There's a new CBR increment option when printing DCP logs. This allows you to override the default 100mm increment for the calculation of the CBR values.
New Sample Types
We've added a few new sample types to the Excel logging workbook templates.
New Web App Map Layers
We've added EA historic landfill and source protection zone layers as options to the map interface.
SPT Reporting Refinement
A couple of changes have been made to the way that SPT values are reported in the logs when a refusal is encountered in the seating drives.
Whitespace Data Load Issue
We've resolved an issue relating to hole IDs with leading or trailing whitespace not matching to depth-related data.
v1.16 - February 2026
Simpler Project Start
We've made a slight modification to the 'Start Logging...' button to improve usability in the desktop app. Now, when you click to start logging, instead of just opening an Excel template Pebble Geo will prompt you to choose a folder and set PROJ metadata to generate a new blank logging template. The template will then be auto-loaded to the desktop app ready for you to start logging.
Installation and Monitoring Sheet and Log Templates (MONG)
We've added a monitoring installation logging sheet to the Excel templates to record the details of instrumentation down-hole.
Also, when you print logs there is a new checkbox option to switch to an installation log template. This will print logs showing an extended installation and backfill column, with more detail on pipes, the option to display casing, and a new column that shows the position of the instruments and stand pipes down the hole.
Summary Report Improvements
We've added some new fields to the Excel export on the summary reports. Specifically, you can now see levels (mAOD), and also SPT N value summaries by stratum.
Date / Time on Samples
We've added a date/time column to the SAMP sheet.
Geo-Environmental Lab Schedule
Alongside the geotechnical lab schedule, there is now a new option to export a geo-environmental schedule. This will pre-select likely environmental sample types for the export, and produce an Excel workbook with typical test suites pre-populated.
New Types
We've added CFA (Continuous Flight Auger) to location types, and V (Vial), T (Tub), JT (Jar and Tub) to samples in the logging sheets.
Hatching Patterns
We've improved the hatching patterns for SILTSTONE, SANDSTONE, BRECCIA and CONGLOMERATE to be closer to expected standards.
New Log Scale Option
We've added a 1:20 log scale option when printing logs.
v1.15 - December 2025
User Settings (Date and Unit Formats)
A new user settings option has been added allowing a custom date format to be set for log printing. The options also allow control of depth units (metres or feet) to be set.
Soakaway Test Plots
Soakaway sheets have been added to the Excel data entry templates. A soakaway depth plot template has been added to allow printing of soakaway recorded data to PDF.
Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (CBR) Test Plots
DCP sheets have been added to the Excel data entry templates. A DCP depth plot template has been added to allow printing of DCP test results to PDF.
PIPE_REF Bug Fixed
A bug that affected correct rendering of pipes with no id value specified has been corrected.
New HSA Drill Method
A new 'HSA' (Hollow Stem Auger) option has been added to the drilling method type drop-downs in the Excel logging templates.
Additional Log Depth Scales
Some additional depth scale options have been added to the borehole log printing options dialog (1:200, 1:250, 1:300, 1:500).
v1.14 - August 2025
Summary Reports
A new export function has been added to print depth plots of in-situ test data and to generate an Excel workbook of tabular project summary data.
New Generic 'Tests' Worksheet
A new sheet labelled 'Tests' has been added to the PROJECT Excel workbook. This is to provide flexibility when adding test results that are not supported elsewhere in the workbook.
Improved SPT Reporting
Shortcomings in the SPT reporting for specific refusal scenarios have been improved.
Position Label Option (Easting / Northing)
A new option has been added to the log printing to control the position labels. New options for "Easting / Southing" and "X / Y" are now available.
New 'DATUM' Pipe Type
A new 'DATUM' option has been added to the PIPE_TYPE field (alongside 'PLAIN' and 'SLOTTED')to allow for the recording and depiction of datum installations. Sections recorded as 'DATUM' will appear in solid black in the installation column in printed logs.
v1.13 - June 2025
Buffering Into Cross-Sections
A new cross-section drawing mode has been added to the Desktop App that allows any line to be drawn to define a cross-section, and a buffer setting to specify how to pull boreholes into the line-of-section. See this video for more info.
Single Borehole Excel Template
An additional borehole logging Excel template has been added to allow working on a per-location basis. Each borehole or trial pit will have its own .xlsx file, and the layout of the template is optimised for ease of use, and has improved usability on smaller device screens. Watch the tutorial video.

Support for Line Breaks in GEOL
Line breaks can now be added to Geological Descriptions in the Excel template (alt + ENTER). These are preserved on the logs.
Line Break Before 'GEOL_GEOL'
Formation names and second codes on strata now appear with a line break after the main description to improve readability.
Toggle Option for PID Units Label
An option has been added to toggle the 'kPa' units label on and off in printed logs, to add support for relative test values without calibrated units.
PID Units
A 'ppmv' label has been added to PID results in log outputs.
Wider Method Box on Logs
The width of the method box in the bottom-right of the log pages has been increased to permit more space for plant description.
